How to Disable Background Apps on a Windows Device

Some apps can continue to run tasks in the background even when you’re not using them. This significantly slows down your device. If you want to speed up your computer as much as possible, you can decide which apps can operate in the background or disable the feature to block all apps. Here is a step-by-step guide to learn how to disable background apps:

1. Open up your “Settings” by pressingWin + I.”

2. Click on the “Privacy” option.

3. Scroll down on the left-hand side sidebar and navigate to the “Background Apps” option.

4. Toggle the apps you want to stop running in the background. You can also stop all background apps by toggling the button under the “Let apps run in the background” section.
