System Restore is a powerful tool that allows users to revert their system files, settings, and programs to a previous point. This feature is handy when dealing with system malfunctions, software conflicts, or after installing updates that cause system instability. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to use System Restore on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
System Restore
1. Create a Restore Point: Before you can use System Restore, you need to make sure that you have a restore point to go back to. To create a restore point Open “Start”> Type “create a restore point”> Open up the “System Properties” window>Click “Create”> Follow the prompts to create a restore point.

2. Use System Restore: Once you’ve created a restore point, you can now use System Restore. Go to the “System Protection” tab> Highlight the system drive (usually C:)> Click “Configure”> Turn on system protection> Click “Apply”, then “OK“.

3. Using System Restore: Click on “System Restore”> Click “Next”> Choose a restore point from the list or select one you created earlier> Click “Next,” then “Finish” to start the restoration process> Your system will restart and apply the changes.
Note: System Restore will not affect your personal files, but it may uninstall recently installed software.
