Finding out which operating system (OS) your PC is running is quick and easy, and it helps you know if you need to plan for an upgrade.
The simplest way is to press the Windows key + R on your keyboard, type winver, then hit Enter.

A box will pop up showing your OS version, such as Windows 10 or Windows 11, along with its build number.

You can also go to setting, choose System, and click About. This section will confirm which version of Windows you’re using, as well as the edition, such as Home, Pro or Enterprise.

This information is important, because only certain versions will continue to receive updates, and it tells you straight away if you’re still on Windows 10.
