When Lockdown restrictions were implemented, the team over at Futuresound were required to work from home. While they were working remotely, they encountered constant issues with their internet connectivity where their servers were being located.
SOLUTION
The Edmondson's IT team migrated over 100 mailboxes to Microsoft Office 365, connecting their environment to the Cloud, and migrated their entire IT infrastructure.
Introduction
Promoting events since 1994, Futuresound Group specialise in bringing some of the greatest music venues and live events to the North of England. Events ranging from Live At Leeds to Gold Sounds Festival, Futuresound is notorious for their multifaceted events. With the rise in popularity over the last two decades, Futuresound’s events have accumulated a cult following with music-lovers travelling nationwide just to attend.
Challenge
Edmondson’s IT Services has supported Futuresound for over 10 years, providing them with a wide variety of IT support and Services. As we’ve adapted and overcome the continually growing technical world and reached new heights with our growth, Futuresound has done the same. However, with growth comes new challenges. When Covid-19 hit, and Lockdown restrictions were implemented, the team over at Futuresound were required to work from home. Having a large consumer base and being unable to hold events had a significant impact on day-to-day performance. While they were working remotely, they encountered constant issues with their internet connectivity where their servers were being located, requiring them to make the jump to migrate over 100 mailboxes to Microsoft Office 365.
Solution
Making the jump to Office 365, added a layer of protection to their system, allowing them to work securely from home. Office 365 allowed them to venture into all the different apps the platform had to offer, improving their level of communication both internally and externally. Edmondson’s IT migrated their entire IT infrastructure and connected their environment to the Cloud. Our expert engineers moved their mailboxes in batch over the weekend to help reduce downtown. This allowed us to get Futuresound’s email setup to get up and running as soon as possible.

With having a large client base like Futuresound, comes with needing added data backup and protection. Office365’s useful cloud feature allowed them to stay secure and protected on any device.
Saved both time and money
Edmondson’s IT were able to ensure their up-time was 99%. This eliminated the need for Futuresound to rely on another service for their staff to work efficiently, helping to save both time and money.
Long-term investment
Even though they only introduced the email setup to reduce the pressure of working from home, they have greatly benefited from the system, continuing to make use of it while working in the office.
